I slamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken notice of the leaked videos of real state tycoon Malik Riaz’s interview to a private news channel.
The Supreme Court has asked Pakistan Electronic Media Authority (PEMRA) for the record.
The videos were leaked on social media websites.
In the videos, prominent news and current affairs anchors Mehr Bokhari and Mubashir Lucman were seen taking a scripted interview of Malik Riaz. The videos includes clips taken during breaks in which Malik Riaz is dictating the anchors what questions to ask and how he should be answering.
The behind-the-scenes video includes dozens of sound bites that would implicate the anchors of scripting the entire show to please the influential businessman.
Both anchors are also instructed against interrupting Malik Riaz during the interview.
There are also news that Malik Riaz is consistently favoring journalists for his benefits.
Earlier, Electronic Media Reporters Association has filed a petition in Lahore High Court praying the probe of anchors alleged beneficiaries of Malik Riaz.
Supreme Court in its short verdict in Arsalan Iftikar graft case also raised concern over media ethics and journalist’s norms.
Good, they must set an example so that no one in future do these sort of criminal acts.
I already told in a comment that these kind of interviews are pre-planned.
I think, what we are learning through media, now prove as worthless. Thats a tragedy, we must focus on real issues, like how to become a better person. Fault from teachers side and ….
Hats off to the person who made these clips public. This is the second time someone with moral courage have uploaded such videos. Previously it was done in the case of Amir Liquat.
A BIG respect for Tallat Sahab, who have put his personal and very close relationship with Kashif Abbasi aside and did justice to his profession. Well Done sir, this shows that you are an upright person.
Now SC should investigate this and give the maximum sentence possible to both of the journalists and the owner of the media houses and set an example for all the rest.

I’m appalled to see the response being shown in Dunya News this morning. They are bringing in persons with no conscience to prove their point. But the worst was comments by Mr Inamullah Niazi of PTI as he also sided with the channel calling the off-the-record chat leaks as unethical. What about destroying the country overtly and covertly? Is this also unethical? Shame!!!
It is must for our media to go through this self-cleansing process if it still wants to play a major role in nation-building and wants to have some credibility among the masses.
SC should really set some role of conducts abd ethics based on this case.
I agree with Talat’s comments in his show that the biggest victim out of all of this mess would those 1000′s of people who are working on meager salaries (which most of the time are not even paid) and are trying to make an honest living.
Moral of the story: Allah’s plans are the Best and most definitive. What happened in the last 3 days around Riaz thekeydar’s case is an eye-opener for all of us.

The problem is that we are not even willing to assume even for a minute that CJ can make mistake; not to mention he is corrupt…
Lets not close our eyes …is CJ or any judge not human being , is he not pakistani and not living with us in this corrupt society ?
Has anyone of us ever appeared in the court of CJ ?
Have anyone of us gone through “all” the verdicts he issued as being CJ “technically” ?
Lets decide one thing first , we like CJ because he takes suo-moto action against our corrupt government’s actions or events -the government which is elected by “us” . So if on the one hand these suo-motos does make him look like an honest man, he has terribly failed in other respect. He has forgotten that in addition to suo-moto one of the top responsibility of SC is to ensure provision of justice to common people of pakistan in civil , session , high and supreme courts. Honestly, I urge you to visit these courts for a day and chat with people and ask them for how long they have been waiting for the justice , their background , their charges , their satisfaction with judges who is hearing the case and judicial system in general. Then you will understand the flaws in our judiciary. These courts are hub of bribery , favoritism , nepotism just like any other government department.
Judges today , have accumulated a lot of wealth in their own names also in their family member’s name . Houses , plots , cars …from where did this money come ? Why the CJ of HC and SC is not taking notice of this ? All these judges should declare their and their family’s assets to public in LIVE media and any change of asset should be asked about and genuine investigation should be made about the change of assets.
Regarding Malik Riaz , even if interview was planned b/w him and anchors. The questions are valid.
Why CJ chose to hear murder case involving MR before Arsalan gate case
Why CJ re-opened a case decided 6 months ago in which the claimant is also happy and has no objection ?
If Ali riaz was not onsite and was not driving car and he did not commit any murder, why was the suo moto taken under 302 ?
All this indicate that something was fishy and MR was indeed getting black mailed…
There should be a transparent accountability of ALL judges of SC , HC , session and civil courts.
