R awalpindi: On the second day of the two day Indo-Pak Defence Secretary level talks on Siachen, both countries have agreed to continue the dialogue on Siachen.
Representatives from both sides expressed hope towards resolving outstanding issue on Tuesday, keeping with the desire of leaders of both countries.
According to the joint statement at the conclusion of two-day Defence Secretary level talks on Siachen here at the Ministry of Defence, both sides acknowledged that the ceasefire was holding since 2003.
The Pakistan delegation was headed by Secretary Defence, Nargis Sethi while the Indian side was headed by Defence Secretary Shashi Kant Sharma.
The Defence Secretary ofIndiaalso called on the Minister for Defence Syed Naveed Qamar.
The talks were held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere. Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to make serious, sustained and result oriented efforts for seeking an amicable resolution of Siachen.
It was also agreed that the next round of talks on Siachen will be held in New Delhi on mutually convenient dates, to be fixed through diplomatic channels.
