I slamabad: Initial inquiry report into the incident of brawl involving Saudi official and the Airport Security Force (ASF), has revealed that clash took place after Saudi official refused a body search.

According to sources, Colonel Sukhari, a military attaché at the Saudi embassy, started pushing the Airport Security Force (ASF) officials after refusing a security check involving a body search. Sukhari received bruises when the chain of an ASF official’s wrist watch scratched him during the scuffle.

ASF rules clearly mention that only heads of diplomatic missions and counsel generals are exempted from the body search owing to diplomatic immunity guaranteed under theViennaaccords. The Director-General ASF said that the officials have the right to take action if rules are not followed, however, he noted that officers on duty should have informed the higher authorities when the scuffle broke out.

According to ASF officials, Colonel Sukhari, who was meant to fly out toRiyadh, had refused to get a routine body check, instead he started quarreling with the security personnel present at the airport. The ASF officials said that the military attaché insisted that he was not subject to a body search because he was a diplomat.

While speaking to the media at the airport after being given first aid, the colonel had denied starting the fight and claimed that the security staff misbehaved with him and his son.

Saudis think in Pakistan, they can do anything and get away with it. Our sympathies are definitely with ASF. They were doing their job!

It is high time that all foreigners living / working in Pakistan should be made to understand that Pakistan is not their personal Property. In their own country, Saudi army officers are invariably put behind bars by their police if they violate the law. But here, sadly, even their tourist will demand special treatment.

Have you guys have any experience at any Middle eastern Airport?
I have. I don’t want to go into details but after being treated at Dubai Airport, I felt humiliated. I was being treated as a criminal. I felt, as I have no respect, after coming out of the airport.

Saudis should respect law of Pakistan when they are in Pakistan. What Saudis do to Pakistanis when they land at their Saudi airports? They perform complete body search of all Pakistanis and even their rectums for suspicions (Sorry to mention this but this is reality).

Would Pakistan ASF have been treating Americans so? This is the impression that if you belonged to a powerful country, in any mean powerful, you are an outlaw, if not in their own country but surely in Pakistan. This is another aspect of the price we are paying for joining the war on terror. We have to dealt “everyone” according to law, regardless nationality and designation. This is the way, we can have our respect back.
