Q uetta: Balochistan police have revealed that Fronter Crops (FC) is involved in kidnapping three people from the restive city of Quetta.
Deputy Inspector General of Balochistan police, Hamid Shakeel said Friday that a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera video obtained from a local hotel clearly shows that the three men were abducted and taken away in an FC vehicle.
He said police was helpless in the matter. The stance was corroborated by Advocate General Balochistan, Amanullah Kanrani, who said that the FC operates at the behest of the federal government.
A three member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the case pertaining to law and order situation and missing persons issue in Balochistan.
The chief justice said kidnappings by the FC were bringing disgrace on the country.
During the hearing, the chief justice expressed displeasure over absence of Inspector General of FC Balochistan, Obaidullah Khattak.
Chief Justice warned that if Khattak fails to appear in front of the apex court by Friday evening, action would be taken against him.
