L ahore: Train drivers of Pakistan Railways went on strike to get their demands while the passengers are facing trouble due to protest.

After failure of dialogues between Train Drivers Association and Managing Director Pakistan Railways, the drivers had given hunger strike call for today.

Railways minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, taking notice of the strike and disruption in railway services, called the protesters for negotiations.

The dialogues will be held in railway headquarter Lahore.

Train drivers Association continued their strike across the country including Lahore. The demonstrators held back the engine of Allama Iqbal Express at Loco-shed Lahore.

Drivers of Shalimar Express and Hazara Express plying from Karachi also balked at running the trains. Meantime, four trains including Jaffer Express, Quetta Express, Bahaud Din Zakaria Express and Sukkur were held back at Sukkur Station.

Awam Express running from Peshawar has also been halted.

Train Drivers Association said neither any train will run nor will the hunger strike be brought to an end until their demands are met.

Train drivers were demanding promotions and facilities according to 2010 pay scale and mileage allowance.
